Fixing Hounslow: The Conservative group's manifesto for the 2026 local elections

The Conservative group on Hounslow council has published its manifesto for the 2026 local elections listing the priorities residents have told Conservative councillors they want Hounslow council - their council - to focus on. This is the plan we will follow if elected to run Hounslow council - changing policies that have not put residents first so that Hounslow is a council that works for residents and business ratepayers.

On the doorstep and out and about, residents tell us which policies are going wrong, and what they want their council to focus on. They tell us:

  • our streets feel less safe
  • simple repairs take too long
  • the council is tough on ordinary people but not on serious offenders
  • council tax goes up, but standards go down
  • we see money wasted, unnecessary projects, more staff, and worse service in the areas that matter most
  • there have been safeguarding failures that should not have happened and contract mismanagement that wastes your time and money.

For many people, it does not feel like minor problems. It feels like the basics are broken.

Our manifesto is based on a simple idea: it is time to fix these problems.

  • It's time to fix street cleaning and enforcement, so we use common sense instead of just ticking boxes.
  • It's time to fix housing by focusing on building quality homes, not just building more of them.
  • It's time to fix care so that older residents are treated with dignity and respect.
  • It's time to fix council finances, so every pound is spent wisely and delivers value.
